Snow....Round Two

Last night we were out and Madison got her face "FROZEN".  Who would have known that it would be just the start to the second round of snow that started this afternoon!!!

And boy did it come fast and furious!!!  She was having such a wonderful time playing in the snow for the time it took to walk down to Sam, Ben, and Nick's house...just three doors down!

Bowling, Superbowl, and a Puppy Graduation

Birthday parties at this age are so much fun.  They've moved on from "playdates" to planned activities.  One of Madison's best friends turned six over the weekend and had a bowling party.  Madison remembered bowling one other time but didn't really remember how it was played.  This time she really had a wonderful time and looks forward to going again!  Thank goodness for gutter guards and a ball guide.  She bowled pretty good for her second time.

Sunday was the SuperBowl...Broncos versus the Seahawks.  This is Madison's face when she heard that the Broncos were losing :-(

And the week continued with Lucy graduating from Puppy School  She still has LOTS to learn but she's getting there.  She's a smart girl but very STUBBORN...just like her "sister" :-)

Listening for her command

Dont' think she really liked the cap!

Snow Day

NC got quite a bit of snow overnight!  Our house got two and a half inches. The most Madison can actually remember.  She and I stayed home today and enjoyed MANY outside activities.  It started early when she went outside with Lucy to try to build a snowman.  The snow was dry so the best we were able to do was a "Snowmound" instead of a "snowman"!

Wrapped up...almost as bad as the little boy in Christmas Story
Mr. Snowmound...Spikey...I think
Lucy is still learning that running away is not the right way so I had to tether her so that she had room to run and was able play with Madison at the same time. They had such a great time running around and playing in the snow.

We found that the neighborhood tennis courts aren't used often to play tennis...even more so today!  Took Madison and Lucy up there so that Lucy would be able to run without being restricted.

Time was taken for a quick lunch and time to warm up, then back outside to play with her neighborhood friends.  They too built a snowmound!

Don't think we'll be leaving the neighborhood again tomorrow.  Tonight is supposed to be the coldest night of the year and there is so much ice left on the road.  Looks like "the girls" will have another fun day tomorrow!!!

And she continues to "roll on & on"!

Two weekends ago, we had tickets to try out roller skating for the first time. That Sunday, Jeff's right hand sleeve was SLIGHTLY longer than the other after an hour or so of Madison hanging on for dear life.

This Sunday, after just about 30 minutes or so of hanging on to the two of us, Madison branched out and started rolling on her own!!! She LOVED it! The smile of her face was priceless and those skating moves still make me giggle. After only being on her own for moments, she started doing dance moves and thinking she could roller dance! That silly girl!!! She's amazes me still on a daily basis. I LOVE YOU so much little one!

Wearing the girls out

Saturday was wet and dreary and FULL of activities.  It was go, go, go from start to finish.

This didn't allow for the girls to get outside to play.  Luckily the weather cleared up on Sunday and we were able to get outside.

We've started taking Lucy and Madison up to the unused tennis courts in our neighborhood.  They're enclosed, flat and have PLENTY of room for them to run around.  Madison even took time today to practice her inline skating.

Inline skating...she'll be zooming around before we know it!
Playing Frisbee with Lucy...think you're throwing it the wrong way Squirt!

 Have a wonderful week!
Hope friends and family that got snow over the weekend are safe and warm!!!

Birthday Weekend

Jeff celebrated his birthday this weekend with LOTS of shopping, family time, and a movie!
Bonny and Miller made the trip up from Atlanta to celebrate with us...although we think she had another driving force.  :-) Our favorite potter had an open house and it seems to always coincide with Jeffry's birthday.  EARLY Saturday morning was spent standing in the cold!  Luckily the rain had stopped just long enough for the girls to get their shopping done!  Bonny lucked out with an AWESOME Mark Hewitt piece!!!  That alone made standing in the cold SO worth it!  Check out his link below...

After all that shopping, what's a girl to do?....Continue shopping!!!  We had time to kill before going to Madison's cheer class.  Bonny and I went to do some shopping and the boys took Madison to Home Depot to do the Kids Workshop.  While they were there, they ran into SANTA!!!
Santa, Madison, and Lucy
Now it's off to cheer.  This was Madison's first class.  From the look on her face, she really wasn't all that interested.  I think getting up early kinda put a bit of a damper on her performance.

She did a couple cheers and then she was done...stating she didn't like it and finished out the class sitting on Jeff's lap.  We'll have to see how she does next week.

GO MADISON (jump, kick, hop!) !!!

And could you believe...after lunch, we did MORE shopping!  The boy's, Lucy, and Madison did SO very good that day. Here's Madison taking a break with Papa and Lucy while Nana continued to shop.

Sunday was a day of relaxation.  Jeff and I went to see a movie while Nana and Papa stayed home with Madison.  She didn't take her pj's off ALL day.  Her kinda day!!!  She also learned that she can make pot holders!  She was very proud of herself that she quickly mastered the skill of weaving.  Everyone be prepared, 'cause you're all on the list of people getting pot holders!!!

Thanksgiving 2013

We made our way down to Atlanta for the Thanksgiving holiday.  All of Jeff's siblings and a few of Madison's cousins were all gathering at Nana and Papa's house for the feast!

What child doesn't enjoy arts and crafts? As the grandchildren filed into the house on Thanksgiving afternoon, their hands were colored and a lasting canvas was made of all the grandchildren's turkey hand prints.  The younger ones had a harder time holding still as we painted their hands.  They kept saying it tickled.

With all the children in the house, poor Lucy didn't have a chance.  She had to catch ZZZ's when she could.  And when she did, boy did she sleep!

There are going to be very few chances for Nana (and Papa) to have ALL their grandchildren together. Six out of eight under one roof is not doing too bad!

With the Thanksgiving dinner behind us and a little shut eye, it was just moments before the arrival of Fred!!!  I had emailed Santa to let him know that Madison was visiting Nana and if he would make sure Fred found Madison the day after Thanksgiving. Looks like Santa got the email and Fred made it to ATL safely!! Madison was OVERJOYED to see her elf!!!  The official Christmas holiday has begun!
