Rain, Rain, Go Away...

What happen to the 80 degree temperatures we had in the early part of the week?

Earlier in the week...when it was WARM!
This weekend the weather stayed C-O-L-D (dad, I brought the plants in at the early part of the week!).  It didn't rain all weekend but was damp and yucky so we stayed locked inside.  Madison took advantage of being locked in to take more self-portraits and more pictures around the house.  To watch her take a picture of herself, look at the outcome and then giggle is so very cute!  She tries to make the next picture funnier than the picture before.

Her most favorite play pal this weekend was Bullpen.  I had found a harmonica in one of our drawers and she followed him around, playing him a tune.  Then it was on to playing with him with a flashlight!  He looked to Jeff for protection from Madison after awhile.

Sunday we had a playdate with Emma.  Since the weather was still cold and damp we went back to the Jump Zone.  They still had a great time but they just weren't as into it as they were last time.  They seemed to have quite a few more people and more bigger kids running around today making it hard for our little girls to get around.

Ready to go!
There are the bounce 'castle's' but there is also air hockey.  Here's Madison playing air hockey while Emma cheers her on!
Go Madison, Go!
Pizza was on the menu after playing.  The girls were a bit grumpy so we were hoping the pizza would make them feel better and it did.  But by this time they were both ready to take a nap.  Emma was out before they hit the first stop light and Madison wasn't far behind.
It was a quiet weekend here at the Sanford house.  We're ready for the nice weather so we can spend more time outside.  Hope all is going well for everyone and staying warm (where it is cold).

Wedding Weekend

What a wonderful weekend!  Friday was relaxing, Saturday a wedding and Sunday back to relaxing but earlier in the week we had a visit from Dr. Sanford!  Madison wasn't feeling so well earlier in the week so we took her to the Dr to find she has seasonal allergies.  When she got home she showed us how it was done...

First you listen to the heart and chest, look in their mouth and then write the prescription.

Saturday Grandma and Grandpa took advantage of us needing a babysitter and came to Raleigh to watch Ms. Lace for us for the evening while we attended a wedding.  This is the first time in a LONG time we were going out with just grown ups.  Jeff and I took many pictures of us before this one and would you believe this is the one that Madison took!!!  We really had a nice time and we were so very lucky to have wonderful grandparents that wanted to spend time with Madison!!!  We couldn't thank them enough!!!!!

THANK YOU!!

Smile mommy and daddy!!!
Madison had such a great time playing outside on Saturday.  She was able to get out and ride her bike, play in the water (her sink) and play on the slide in Allie's yard.

Then it was time to come in and get ready for bed.  First it was time to eat dinner, then time to read books, then time for a bath.  She took advantage of this time to be able to read one of her favorite books to her grandpa.

After a bath and then a few more books it was time to go to sleep
Sunday morning went by quickly but we were able to get a few more pictures in. Here is Ms. Lace after getting up and being able to play with grandpa for a few more minutes.

We had such a wonderful weekend and we are very happy we were able to spend it with grandma and grandpa!!!  Thank you!!!  WE LOVE YOU!!!

Where do they learn this stuff?

It was a quiet week here at the Sanford house.  One night this week while giving Madison a bath I was cleaning out some of the drawers in her bathroom and came across bathtub crayons for her to play with while in the tub.  Not wanting to miss an opportunity to take a picture of Madison's artwork, I asked Jeff to get the camera for me.  We were able to capture a couple of cute still pictures of her doodling on the bathtub, but what we captured on video was even better!  It's just a wee bit long but it is very funny!!!  I hope that it doesn't offend anyone...just remember, she is only three and we weren't very specific in what we were asking her to do.

We had perfect spring weather this weekend.  Seventy five degrees and a light cool breeze.  Perfect for playing outside (and fighting off spring allergies).  Unfortunately, I had to go shopping for a few things that are needed for next weekend (a wedding Saturday night) and had to spend a bit of Saturday shopping.  Fortunately enough, the place we went had a wonderful little playground for the children and we had to pry Madison outta there!

Sunday was spent outside as much as we could.  Jeff took Madison grocery shopping while I stayed home and did a bit of yard work.  We tried to get Madison to take a nap with us in the hammock but that didn't work out too well.  She did calm down but could never get comfortable enough to fall asleep.  So needless to say she went without a nap today.  She did like laying in the hammock!  Allie came over later and they not only got to play in the water with Madison's outdoor sink, Madison got to show Allie how to play in the hammock.  It was wonderful to see the two of them outside playing together, running and giggling like girls do.  So glad the weather has turned and I'm hoping the cold is behind us now.

VROOM-VROOM

One more thing we did over the weekend. I worked on Saturday so Jeff
took Madison to the Home Depot for their kids workshop. This weekend
they built a race car! This is her going VROOM-VROOM with her car on a
stack of plywood.

And one more day of birthday celebrations!

Monday was Madison's actual birthday so she got JUST ONE MORE day to celebrate!  I do believe that five days of birthday celebrations was more than enough!

Blowing out her candle
In the Fall, Madison and I took a weekend and planted a few bulbs in the woods next to the house and hoped the squirrels and/or moles wouldn't eat them all during the winter.  Well, we found out this weekend that if they did eat some, they left a few to break through for Spring!

Rain was in the forecast for ALL DAY on Sunday.  Luckily in the morning we were able to get out in the morning for twenty minutes or so before it started to rain.  After lunch we met Madison's friend, Emma, at the Jumping Zone.  There were quite a few other people who had the same idea but the girls had a BLAST!!!!

The girls had such a great time and we had a great time visiting with her parents.  We look forward to spending more time with Emma and her family!

And it continues into Sunday as well!

There wasn't enough time (or patience) to open all the presents on Saturday.  Some were left for Sunday morning.  After a nice breakfast it was time to finish up the birthday celebrations.

Really Nana?...more clothes?
With the temperatures pushing 80 degrees it was very hard not to spend the rest of the day outside. Madison brought her new radio outside to share her new tunes with all of us.  Grandma painted her finger and toe nails while we were sitting outside.  She was now ready for the new week to begin.

Grandma and Grandpa left for home in the later part of the afternoon.  Grandpa wanted to get home to be able to get some things done early Monday morning.  The rest of the afternoon we just really had Lazy Days.  It was just nice to be outside.  Madison had been asking to go for a walk to the creek so we took Carson and her down there to throw rocks for a little bit.

Happy Birthday!

The wait was finally over!!! Four o'clock and it's party time!

Madison had a wonderful birthday. She had her best friends and most of her family here to celebrate.  For those who weren't able to be here she missed you very much!
