Got up early this morning. We had lots to do today and not enough time to get it all done. Stopped by the hospital for dad to visit with Madison for an hour or so. He looked fantastic and was feeling very good. It really perked him up to see his granddaughter. Madison made his day since she was handing out many kisses! Now it was time to head to N. VA to visit cousin Mackenzie.

The trip from Charlottesville to Fredricksburg went smoothly. Then it all just came to a standstill! Heaing north always reminds me as to why we left. You have to have the patients of a saint to drive in NVA! We made it to te Springfield Sanford's a little late, but in plenty of time to share in the birthday events. Mackenzie's birthday was wonderful...good food, great company and fun, fun, fun! Madison loved seeing all the children and getting to spend time with her cousin.

After all the festivities died down, it was time to just take it easy. Madison took this opportunity to be the class clown...don't know where she gets that from :-).
The next morning it was time to say good bye and head back to Charlottesville for a visit with dad and then back to Raleigh. All said, Miss Lace did very well. It was a LONG weekend but well worth the trip. Glad we had the week to catch up on sleep!
